제주도 특사의 찬스를 통해, 면세점에서만 구입할 수 있는 조니워커 아일랜드 그린을 제 손에 넣게 되었습니다. 

조니워커 그린라벨을 정말 맛있게 먹었던 기억으로, 피트를 조금 더 공부해보겠다는 핑계로 하나 영입했어요 :) 

 

 

제품 박스 뒷면에는 제품에 대한 설명이 영어로 기재되어 있습니다. 

제품 설명을 통해 Caol Ila, Clynelish, Glenkinchie, Cardhu 몰트를 이용하여 완성된 위스키임을 알 수 있습니다. 

In Johnnie Walker Island Green Blended Malt Scotch Whisky we sought to create a powerful and more intense version of our famous Johnnie Walker Green Label. This new expression is true to the signature malt style of the original but with a greater influence of Island whiskies. 

Our long tradition of blending has enabled us to craft this carefully selected release to capture the distinctive characters of individual mature malts from the four main whisky regions of Scotland, giving added prominence to Caol Ila from the Island of Islay. This smoky, maritime malt is balanced with robust fruity Highland malts including Clynelish, lighter Lowland malts represented by Glenkinchie and the characteristically sweet and fragrant Speyside style of Cardhu.

Aromas of wood smoke, pepper and spice mingle with layers of orchard fruit, gentle vanilla and sandalwood while the falvour experience delivers all the character of a single malt but with greater depth and complexity amplified by the unique Island style.

 

 

1L 크기의 조니워커 병은 처음 접해봤습니다. 

위스키 병을 보고 있자니 확실히 거대하다는 생각이 강하게 듭니다 ㄷㄷ 

그에 비해 병목은 길이가 짧아서 짜리몽땅한 느낌이 강하게 드는 모습입니다. 

 

 

조니워커 아일랜드 그린은 조니워커 그린라벨과 달리 NAS 제품으로 구성되어 있습니다. 

면세점에서만 만날 수 있는 제품인데.. 그린 라벨보다 윗단계 제품이라고 알고 있는데 NAS 제품인 것은 조금 아쉽습니다. 

 

 

제품 사진만 찍고 곧바로 뚜따했습니다. 

그리고 한잔 마시는 순간, 피트향이 무엇인지 매우 정확하게 알게 되었습니다.. 

회와 페어링하면 맛있을 느낌. 

피니시에서 올라오는 소독약맛. 

그렇게 피트는 제 취향이 아닌 것으로 결정.. 

당분간..봉인해두어야겠습니다..

공식 테이스팅 노트

NOSE Aromas of saltwater and fresh, black pepper mingle with tropical notes of sweet vanilla, toffee and earthy sandalwood. 

PALATE This spectacular whisky presents a unique range and depth of flavour - full-bodied with warm spice. It expertly balances the distinct sweetness of the fruit with the robustness of smoke. 

FINISH Johnnie Walker Island Green ends with a complex, lingering finish - combining gentle and warming peat-smoke with sweet orchard fruit flavours.
