오늘 소개할 위스키는 술테크로 유명한 맥캘란에서 면세점 전용 라인으로 출시된 컨셉 NO.3 제품입니다. 

2022년 올해 초까지 제주공항 면세점에서 150$에 판매하기도 했으며, 현재 국내에서는 인천공항 국제 면세점에서만 구입 가능한 것으로 알고 있습니다. 

컨셉 시리즈는 제품박스의 세 면이 연결되는 그림으로 이루어져 있는데요. 

컨셉 NO.3 제품은 그래픽 디자이너 David Carson 이 디자인한 패키징을 사용하고 있습니다. 

 

 

제품 박스 뒷면에는 맥캘란 컨셉 시리즈에 대한 설명과 함께 NO.3 제품의 설명이 기재되어 있습니다. 

또한 공식 테이스팅 노트가 기재되어 있는데요.

The Macallan Concept Series is a limited collection of annual release whiskies which fuse the artistry and expertise behind our whisky making with creativity and culture. Each release is exclusively designed to create an extraordinary taste experience. 

The Macallan Concept No.3 brings together the worlds of whisky and design through this collaboration with David Carson. As one of the most influential and revolutionary contemporary graphic designers, Carson has brought his unique perspective and method to the design of Concept No.3. His design is inspired by time spent at The Macallan's estate working alongside whisky maker Polly Logan. 

A remarkable number of similarities define the approach to their respective crafts. Both have a curiosity to revisit and their revolve their work, creating greater depth by ensuring every element has purpose. The whisky itself has been created to deliver a richness from first fill sherry butts, enhanced by sweetness and spices from ex-bourbon casks, with balance and freshness brought by specially selected refill and virgin oak casks. 

 

 

맥캘란 컨셉 NO.3 제품은 전체적으로 노란 색상을 포인트로 사용한 모습입니다. 

제품박스와 병의 라벨 디자인을 보고 있으니, 세련된 도시의 화려한 모습이 연상되기도 합니다. 

 

 

NAS 제품이라서 고숙성의 특별한 맛을 느끼는 것은 어렵겠지만, 디자인 하나만으로도 소장 가치는 충분한 제품이라고 생각됩니다.

COLOUR Califonia Gold. 

AROMA Sweet fresh pear and apricot, gentle oak spice, with warm cinnamon and ginger, followed by vanilla and sweet citrus. 

PALATE Fresh apple and pear combine with oak spice and delicate herbal notes, leading to a rich, creamy vanilla sweetness. 

FINISH Medium sweetness with smooth, buttery pastry notes.
